Summary: The School District of Borough of Morrisville is seeking a qualified Title I Paraprofessional position for students in Kindergarten through fifth grade. The assignment and/or the hours of responsibility may change at the discretion of the Administration. Maximum of 37.5 hours/week. To facilitate supplemental small group lessons to students who are experiencing difficulty with reading and mathematics so that they may achieve higher levels of success in the regular classroom.

All duties are performed under the direction of the Principal and/or Reading Specialist.

Qualifications:

• Title I Paraprofessionals must be designated as “Highly Qualified” by showing evidence of at least one of the following:
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or the equivalent of two years of college along with demonstrated continued growth in the educational field.
• At least 48 college/university credits
• Successfully pass local assessment. (Credential of Competency from the Pennsylvania Department of Education to fulfill this requirement.)
• Passing score on the Paraprofessional Praxis
• At least one year’s experience in similar occupation; experience with students with learning, social or emotional disabilities or Autism spectrum highly recommended.
• Knowledge of child growth and development.
• Paraprofessionals must participate in 20 hours of staff development activities related to their assignment each school year.

Clearances and other requirements:

Background employment clearances and the following additional paperwork must be completed within the last year to be valid:
Arrest/Conviction Report (Act 24), PA Sexual Misconduct/Abuse Disclosure (Act 168), and School Health Record which includes physical (within a year) and TB test (within 3 months).

Salary: Per Agreement between Morrisville Board of School Directors and Morrisville Educational Support Personnel Association.
