This role supports laboratory operations through sample handling, instrument analysis, and maintenance activities within an industrial gas environment. The position involves working across lab functions including GC instrument operation, data management, and safety compliance, with experience in electronic and specialty gases being highly valued.
Key Responsibilities- Sample login into the data management system in a timely and accurate manner.
- Sample preparation.
- Analysis of routine samples on GC instruments.
- Performing instrument maintenance as needed.
- Processing results and entry into the data management system.
- Delivering/Transporting samples between labs as necessary.
- Cleaning glassware.
- Sample disposal and waste compilation.
- Inventory tracking and purchasing of supplies.
- Help implement 5S in the laboratories and work spaces.
- Complete safety training and foster a safe working environment.
- Capable of learning, understanding, and following SOPs to perform assigned duties.
- Ability to understand and follow safe handling procedures for hazardous chemicals.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with other employees.
- Must have initiative and be self-motivated.
- Good verbal and written skills.
- Good organizational skills.
- Ability to work under time pressure.
- Ability to change plans and work environment on short notice.
- Must be able to lift 50lb loads with the help of coworkers.
- Experience with Electronic Gases would be ideal, including toxic and flammable gases:
Silane, Diborane, DCS Dichlorosilane, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Silium compressed gases.
- Associate's Degree in Chemistry or Similar Science, with 1–3 years of industrial experience.
- 1–3 years of industrial experience (required in conjunction with Associate's Degree in Chemistry or Similar Science).
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift 50lb loads with the help of coworkers.
- Role involves handling hazardous chemicals requiring adherence to safe handling procedures.
