Construction Controller
A construction services company is seeking a controller in the South Atlanta Area. This position oversees a staff of 4 and reports directly to the CEO. The ideal candidate must be organized, proficient in technology, have excellent communication skills and previous controller experience in construction of 10+ years.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Financial Reporting
- Cash reconciliations and Bank Correspondence
- Accounts Payable entry and check disbursement
- Data entry related to budgeting
- Job analysis and over/under billings
- Payroll processing, payroll tax remittance, and payroll tax reporting
- Multi-state permitting, licensing and tax reporting
- Human Resources duties related to benefit processing
- Certified payroll and LCP Tracker experience
- Communication with CPA and Income Tax Preparers
- Light IT management
- Credit Card Processing
- Accounting for special projects i.e. rentals, T&M, consulting contracts, etc.
- Maintaining an adequate system of accounting records
- Enhancing the company's financial results and ensuring that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles
- Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for the annual audit
- Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Reviewing and approving of all invoices to be paid
- Reviewing accounts receivable aging reports
- Review all financial contracts, financing activities and insurance policies
- Manage the production of the annual budget and forecasts
- Negotiating lines of credit and vendor agreements
- Manage the accuracy and productivity of the day-to-day activities of accounts payable, cash disbursements, invoicing/billing, customer collections, payroll, inventory, fixed asset records and cost accounting
- Oversee the operations of the accounting department, including the design of an organizational structure adequate for achieving the department's goals and objectives
Required:
- College Degree
- 10+ years of construction experience
- Construction managerial experience
- Basic contract knowledge
- Collections experience
- Positive attitude
- Strong communication skills
- Exceptional work ethic and organizational abilities
