Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science and Information Technology at Clayton State University invites applications for a second Tenure Track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2026.

Please note this is a 2nd Tenure Track position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin Fall 2026 from the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology. You must apply for each position separately to be considered for each position.

Responsibilities

The candidate will teach both undergraduate and graduate level courses offered by Department of Computer Science and Information Technology, advise students, supervise students research, participate in development of curriculum and new programs. In addition to supervising undergraduate and graduate research, the successful candidate must have a genuine commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer science to a student body.

Faculty are expected to support the department, college, university, and community through services such as committees, special projects, and accreditation efforts. The successful candidate must engage in scholarly activities, and will be expected to develop a dynamic, independent, and externally funded research program in an area of computer science or computer engineering. Candidates with a strong background in one or more of the areas of Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Software Engineering, and industry credentials or certification are especially desirable.

In addition to duties associated with teaching and research, service to the department, college, and university is expected. The faculty member is also expected to participate in continuing professional development related to the discipline.

Required Qualifications

The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in Computer Science or a closely related field. Must have a genuine commitment to teaching undergraduate and graduate level courses in computer science. In addition to teaching and supervising undergraduate and graduate research in a computer science area, the selected candidate will be expected to develop a dynamic, independent, externally funded research program in an area of computer science

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to above academic credentials, a strong background in one or more of the areas of Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering and industry credentials or certification are especially desirable.
