Job Summary

The School of Sciences in the College of Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics at Clayton State University is seeking applicants for a Lecturer of Biology position. The position is an academic year (renewable), non-tenure appointment that reports to the Director of the School of Sciences. The successful candidate will be expected to begin on August 1, 2026. Salary will be commensurate with experience and competitive with comparable programs.

In compliance with the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986, proof of authorization to work in the U.S. will be required at the time of hire.

Responsibilities

* Teach the Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and labs and other non-majors courses as needed. Tenure-track faculty are expected to teach 17.5 contact hours per week in the fall and spring semesters. The majority of courses are during normal business hours but may occasionally be online or after 5pm on weekdays.

* Participate in service to Department, School, University and community.

* Serve as a career mentor for Biology and pre-health students.

Required Qualifications

* Master's degree in biology or closely related discipline.

* Ability to teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses and the associated labs for allied health students

* Ability and desire to teach lower division courses and labs for majors and non-majors.

* Excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

* Doctoral or ABD candidate in biology or closely related discipline will be considered and are encouraged to apply.

* Potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching.

* Willingness to participate in innovative, evidence-based teaching practices.

* A commitment to working in a department that prioritizes collaboration.

* Familiarity with utilizing course management systems in teaching and/or implementing online courses (or willingness to learn).
