The Medical Support Specialist (Plasma Center Nurse) reports to the Plasma Center Manager and performs support for plasma center operations, including donor eligibility, adverse event management, laboratory results review, and donor notification. The role works under the guidance of the Center Manager and under the Center Physician for medical issues, and follows Bio Life Medical Affairs guidance and center‑level support of environmental, health and safety.
HowYou Will Contribute
- Determine donor eligibility, including proper management of informed consent, AIDS education and confidential self‑exclusion, medical history interview, physical examination, blood testing, and reviewing serological protein electrophoresis (SPE).
- Evaluate donor reactions per SOPs and follow applicable procedures for medical emergencies, including development of Center Physician’s standing orders and donor transport to emergency care facilities.
- Refer to the Center Physician or Medical Affairs for unacceptable findings or guidance concerning medical or technical issues, including donor safety and eligibility.
- Support Hepatitis B and seasonal flu vaccination programs for employees as applicable.
- Manage employee incidents and determine whether further evaluation is required by occupational health or ER, referencing EHS guidance.
- Act as Pandemic Coordinator when authorized by EHS and support investigations of pandemic threats in the local community.
- High school diploma or equivalent (including a recognized educational nursing program with state requirements).
- Current licensed or certified in the state where duties are assigned: LPN or LVN.
- Current CPR and AED certification.
- Fulfillment of state IV therapy requirements.
- Completion of FDA‑approved training requirements for Bio Life Medical Support Specialist.
- Two years in a clinical or hospital setting.

Bio Life Compensation And Benefits SummaryWe understand compensation is an important factor; we strive for equitable pay and transparency. The U.S. hourly wage range for this position is $24.32–$33.44. The actual wage offered will depend on qualifications, experience, skills, education, certifications, and location, and will comply with applicable state or local minimum wage requirements. U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term incentives, medical/dental/vision insurance, a 401(k) plan with company match, short‑and‑long‑term disability, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well‑being benefits.
U.S. employees may receive up to 80 hours of sick time per calendar year and up to 120 hours of paid vacation upon hire.
