Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Police Officer role located in Morrow, GA. The Police Officer is responsible for patrolling assigned areas, responding to emergency and non-emergency calls, and enforcing local, state, and federal laws. Daily duties include conducting traffic stops, investigating incidents and accidents, preparing detailed reports, and testifying in court as needed. The role also involves engaging with community members, participating in crime prevention initiatives, and assisting in public safety education.
Officers are expected to maintain situational awareness, follow department policies and procedures, and work collaboratively with other law enforcement and public safety personnel.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in observation, situational awareness, and sound judgment in dynamic environments.
- Strong interpersonal, conflict resolution, and community engagement skills to build trust and collaborate with diverse populations.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and clear documentation.
- Ability to follow lawful orders, apply laws and regulations consistently, and adhere to department policies and ethics standards.
- Capacity to remain calm under pressure, make timely decisions, and respond appropriately to emergencies.
- High level of physical fitness sufficient to perform patrol, defensive tactics, and emergency response duties; ability to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- High school diploma or GED required; additional coursework or degree in criminal justice, law enforcement, or a related field is beneficial.
- Ability to obtain and maintain Georgia POST certification and meet all background, medical, psychological, and drug screening requirements.
- Valid driver’s license with a satisfactory driving record; prior law enforcement, security, or military experience is a plus.
