Our Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD, our priority is our customers and helping them build a better world. We touch nearly every element of the services value stream. PSLD is responsible for Aftermarket Parts Distribution of Cat Parts, Integrated Logistics and Global Services supporting Caterpillar dealers and customers. Our teams work together in critical areas that leverage digital capabilities, technology and operational excellence.

Role

Position: Senior Parts Orders Analyst — you will be responsible for assisting in coordinating the workflow across Operations, Customer Service, Carriers and other Traffic employees to support assigned responsibilities.

What You Will Do
  • Provide high level customer service on emergency outbound shipments.
  • Assist Customer Service, Inbound, Receiving, CPs and various logistics teams to improve velocity for dealer special requests.
  • Investigate and resolve delays in route management; recommend or initiate changes to resolve issues and improve deliveries.
  • Create shipping documents for premium carriers using the EWM system and Caterpillar Commercial Invoices and BOL.
  • Edit bills of lading to ensure information is complete and accurate.
  • Create other shipping documents as needed including Dangerous Goods documentation, shippers export declaration and proof of delivery.
  • Provide support in the selection of carriers.
  • Process and ship urgently needed parts ensuring import/export orders are shipped according to contract, regulations and company policies.
  • Manage Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) process for all transportation lanes.
  • Establish relationships within the multimodal transportation network, compliant with the Caterpillar Code of Conduct.
  • Respond to customer service teams' calls and provide necessary information and assistance to complete orders.
  • Monitor and manage velocity metrics associated with second shift emergency routes.
What You Have (Basic Requirements)
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions.
  • Data Gathering & Analysis: Knowledge of data gathering and analysis tools, techniques, and processes; ability to collect and synthesize data from a variety of stakeholders and sources to reach a conclusion.
  • Materials Handling and Management: Knowledge of material handling and management in plants; ability to perform, monitor and improve processes related to storage, transportation and handling of raw and hazardous materials.
  • Planning and Organizing: Knowledge of planning and organizing tasks and resources to complete work in a systematic and methodical way.
  • Problem Solving: Knowledge of approaches and tools for recognizing and resolving organizational or process problems; ability to apply problem solving to diverse situations.
What Will Set You Apart (Preferred Skills)
  • 1–3 years of experience (or equivalent knowledge) in Operations, Expediting, Purchasing, and Traffic.
  • Strong communication skills with personnel at all levels, including suppliers and transportation carriers.
  • Strong PC skills (Office 365, Outlook).
  • Strong EWM and yard management experience.
  • Flexibility to work overtime, off-shifts, and a monthly Saturday rotation.
  • Associate degree or prior logistics experience.
  • Good knowledge of material flow through Morton.
  • Familiarity with various Morton systems.
  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of materials and quality objectives.
