Procurement

Product Support and Logistics Division (PSLD) is one of the most innovative divisions within Caterpillar. In PSLD we support aftermarket parts distribution, integrated logistics, and global services for Caterpillar dealers and customers. As Manager, Procurement Solutions, you will deliver globally effective business solutions to support the procurement vision and strategy.

• The role is located in Morton, IL and does not offer relocation.
• 1st shift, Monday – Friday.
• 100% on‑site; no hybrid or remote schedules.
• Requires up to 10% domestic or international travel.

• Lead and support a team of individual contributors responsible for transportation procurement processes, systems, and strategic initiatives.
• Manage end‑to‑end design, development, and implementation of transportation procurement solutions by partnering with stakeholders to gather business requirements, VOC, and VOB feedback.
• Drive strategic transportation sourcing initiatives with suppliers, influencing outcomes and ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
• Collaborate closely with Transportation Operations to optimize procurement activities and improve operational efficiency.
• Ensure team compliance with transportation purchasing policies, procedures, and best practices while identifying opportunities to mitigate risk.
• Maintain and enhance Power BI reporting and dashboards to support business performance tracking, data‑driven decision‑making, and continuous improvement.
• Oversee master data management activities, including integration and maintenance of data between Salesforce and Blue Yonder systems.
• Support and optimize Blue Yonder processes by ensuring accurate procurement and transportation data flows across systems.
• Develop, standardize, and implement best practices, tools, training materials, and service offerings that improve consistency and operational effectiveness.
• Drive adoption of new processes, systems, and tools while identifying opportunities for simplification, standardization, and continuous improvement.
• Lead projects focused on lean processes, market insights, transportation procurement capabilities, and system enhancements.
• Analyze business needs and recommend scalable solutions that improve service levels, supplier performance, and overall transportation procurement effectiveness.
• Build expertise in transportation technology platforms, including Blue Yonder, and leverage analytics to support strategic decision‑making.

• Knowledge of quality management methods, tools, and techniques.
• Effective communication skills and ability to transmit, receive, and interpret ideas, information, and needs.
• Knowledge of business intelligence and ability to use data to support better decision‑making.
• Knowledge of category management and ability to analyze and improve procurement processes.
• Knowledge of purchasing policies, regulations, and processes for procurement of materials, components, equipment, and services.

• 5+ years of transportation procurement, logistics, supply chain, or transportation operations experience.
• Expertise in transportation processes, systems, and operational best practices.
• Experience with Blue Yonder or similar transportation management platforms.
• Strong critical thinking and problem‑solving skills with a solutions‑first mindset.
• Experience designing and implementing transportation or logistics process improvements.
• Background in system solution design, process transformation, or operational optimization.
• Demonstrated ability to influence outcomes through expertise and collaboration.
