Production Manager
SUMMARY
The 1st Shift Production Supervisor position is responsible for managing the facility workload while training, monitoring employee performance and adherence to policy. This role ensures customer needs are met efficiently, accurately and timely.
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES- Ensures finished material is accurately documented and accounted for.
- Meets customer production and delivery goals, ensuring the workforce operates within production standards for efficiency.
- Provides staff with sufficient work and ensures employees perform adeptly and meet benchmarked deadlines.
- Manages workforce, captures detailed production labor hours, and maintains metrics for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting.
- Trains and develops the workforce through effective communication during shifts and company review processes.
- Maintains a safe working environment by practicing safe measures and reviewing safe job procedures.
- Improves shop efficiency, productivity, and employee engagement by collaborating, thinking creatively, and offering innovative suggestions.
- Works efficiently to achieve or exceed performance targets for velocity, quality, and cost.
- Understands and follows all ISO and 5S initiatives.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve department and company goals.
- Provides leadership through example and sharing knowledge/skills.
- Complies with all safety policies, practices, and procedures and reports unsafe activities to the supervisor or Human Resources.
- Assigns scheduled tasks and manages workflow for the shift based on customers’ orders.
- Manages customer relationships: provides timely responses to inquiries and requests, and proactively communicates performance including proposed solutions/resolutions.
- Operates a power industrial truck and counterbalance sit‑down forklift.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school; related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Advanced computer skills with Microsoft Office.
- Minimum of three (3) years of verifiable experience in a supervisory role in production, warehouse, manufacturing, assembly, or 3PL environment.
- Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to meet deadlines.
- Previous experience operating a counterbalance sit‑down forklift and order picker.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a two‑year college or technical school.
- Master’s degree and Supply Chain, Logistics, APICS, Lean, and/or Six Sigma certifications desired.
- Experience in a world‑class environment serving Fortune 500 customers preferred.
- Experience with inventory and materials management best practices, Lean and Six Sigma techniques, value stream mapping, standard work/process engineering, cross‑functional deployment maps, multi‑generational project plans, and key performance indicator scorecards.
- Ten years’ experience in manufacturing & 3PL environments.
- Five years’ experience supervising employees.

- Lift heavy objects up to 35 pounds on a regular basis.
- Complete repetitive tasks with few breaks.
- Hearing protection is required.
- Vision requirements include close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less), distant vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more), peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point), depth perception (three‑dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships), and the ability to focus.
- Manual dexterity sufficient to reach and handle items.
Location: 1601 N Main St., Morton, IL
Shift: 1st Shift (7 am – 3:30 pm, Monday – Friday)
Pay Range: $55,000 – $65,000 annually
