Electronics Assembler

This role focuses on building custom electrical equipment and assemblies for agricultural products, including wiring, high-voltage work, and integration of pumps, VFD drives, and hydraulic components. You will perform hands-on electrical and electronic assembly, from wire pulling and hand wiring to testing and verification, while interpreting blueprints and schematics to ensure accurate and reliable builds.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble custom electrical equipment and components according to blueprints, schematics, and work instructions.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks, including wire pulling, hand wiring, and routing of wire harnesses and cable assemblies.
  • Work with pumps, variable frequency drives (VFDs), hydraulics, and related electrical and mechanical components as part of the assembly process.
  • Carry out high-voltage electrical work safely and in accordance with established procedures and standards.
  • Use hand tools and power tools to assemble electrical and mechanical components, panels, and subassemblies.
  • Measure, cut, strip, crimp, and terminate wires and cables using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Verify proper torque on terminal blocks, VFD lugs, and other connections using torque screwdrivers or torque wrenches.
  • Use test equipment such as multimeters to check voltage, continuity, and resistance, and perform basic diagnostics on assemblies.
  • Assist with insulation testing of motors and VFD cables using appropriate resistance testing equipment when required.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams to ensure accurate component placement and wiring.
  • Support mechanical aspects of assembly, including panel layout, component spacing, conduit work, and hose cutting as needed.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area while following all safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Lift, move, and position components and assemblies weighing up to 50 lbs and perform tasks that require standing, bending, and twisting throughout the shift.
  • Collaborate with team members and supervisors to resolve assembly issues and continuously improve build quality and efficiency.

Essential Skills

  • Electrical experience and knowledge of electrical components, including practical, hands-on assembly work.
  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints or electrical schematics.
  • Experience building or assembling electrical equipment or components from start to finish.
  • Electrical wiring experience, including routing, terminating, and securing wires and harnesses.
  • Proficiency using hand tools and power tools for assembly work.
  • Familiarity with electronics and electrical assembly processes, including wire pulling and wire harness assembly.
  • Ability to perform high-voltage electrical work safely and follow established safety practices.
  • Capability to lift up to 50 lbs and to stand, bend, and twist throughout the shift.
  • Comfort working in a warehouse or light manufacturing environment on agricultural-related products.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience using a multimeter for measuring voltage, continuity, and resistance.
  • Exposure to resistance testing equipment for motor and VFD cable insulation testing.
  • Familiarity with oscilloscopes for signal diagnostics in bench work environments.
  • Experience using torque screwdrivers or torque wrenches to properly tighten terminal blocks and VFD lugs.
  • Skill with precision screwdrivers for work on small electronics and control boards.
  • Proficiency with crimping tools for ferrules, ring terminals, and spade terminals.
  • Experience with adjustable gauge wire strippers, cable cutters for copper and aluminum, and cable benders.
  • Ability to use calipers or micrometers for checking component spacing and panel layouts.
  • Experience with conduit work and related tools.
  • Familiarity with pneumatic screwdrivers, standard screwdrivers, and cutting tools for tasks such as cutting rubber hose.
  • Experience in mechanical assembly or light mechanical work alongside electrical assembly.
  • Experience working with wire harnesses and wire harness assembly in an industrial or manufacturing setting.
