Trillium Staffing is seeking an experienced Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) to support welding quality and manufacturing operations in a production environment.
This position is responsible for evaluating welded components, verifying compliance with industry standards, assisting with new product introductions, and working with engineering and production teams to ensure products meet quality expectations before entering production.
Responsibilities- Performing visual inspections of welded components to verify compliance with AWS standards and engineering specifications.
- Reviewing blueprints, welding symbols, technical drawings, and customer requirements.
- Evaluating weld quality, joint fit-up, penetration, weld size, and overall workmanship.
- Assisting with new product introductions by supporting weld process development and validation.
- Participating in First Article Inspections (FAI), PPAP activities, and other product qualification requirements.
- Verifying welding procedures, process capability, and production readiness.
- Coordinating weld qualification testing and supporting nondestructive testing (NDT) activities when needed.
- Recording inspection results and maintaining accurate quality documentation.
- Identifying welding defects, investigating root causes, and assisting with corrective actions.
- Collaborating with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to improve welding processes and product quality.
The Certified Weld Inspector position is available on 1st shift, Monday through Friday, 6:00am to 2:00pm. Annual salary ranges from $80,000 to $115,000, depending on experience. This is a full-time, direct hire opportunity offering a competitive benefits package upon hire.

Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required
- Current AWS Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) certification required
- Previous weld inspection experience in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
- Strong understanding of AWS welding codes, inspection methods, and quality standards
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings
- Experience supporting FAI, PPAP, or new product launch activities preferred
- Familiarity with nondestructive testing (NDT) methods preferred
- Ability to lift up to 40 pounds occasionally
- Ability to pass pre-employment screenings
