Position Responsibilities
Position Summary
- This is position is a non-tenure, Clinical Faculty position with the rank of Assistant Professor. It is part-time, .125
FTE/5 hrs. per week. These physician faculty will teach medical students in the WWAMI Medical Education Program. Weekly clinical skills workshops with 1st and 2nd year medical students:
- Lead a group of 5-6 students in clinical simulations emphasizing communication skills, physical examination, and clinical reasoning.
- Advanced physical exam workshops (i.e. cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, abdominal, etc.)
- Provide formative feedback on Observed Structured Clinical Exams (OSCE's)
Other responsibilities may include:
- Involvement in teaching of students 2 week "Clinical Immersion" experience
- Faculty Development
- Staff Meetings
- Student Interest Group Advising
- Assisting with student orientation
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
Unit/Department Summary
- The Idaho WWAMI Medical Education Program is a partnership between the University of Washington School of Medicine, the University of Idaho and other Universities in Washington, Wyoming, Alaska and Montana. WWAMI-Idaho at University of Idaho teaches medical students the foundations phase of medical school curriculum in Moscow Idaho over the first 18 months of medical school.

Contingency Description
- As a WWAMI faculty member, employee's salary will be paid based on the 39 weeks of the academic contract year. Employee is responsible for delivering and grading of all courses and activities for the 18 month curriculum which extends slightly past the academic year contract end date.

Qualifications
Minimum Education /Degree Required
- Listed degree qualification is required at time of application.
Required Qualifications - A terminal degree (M.D., D.O., or equivalent) Board certified or Board eligible Active clinical practice in the area, or ability to obtain by time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience teaching medical and/or other health professional students.
