The RoleWe are looking for an experienced Wire Harness Designer to join our team. You will be responsible for designing and documenting wire harnesses for automotive autonomy and drive-by-wire vehicle conversion applications. This is a hands‑on role where your work goes directly into real systems on real vehicles.
Responsibilities- Design and draft wire harness schematics and layouts using Cadonix Arcadia
- Create formboard layouts for manufacturing
- Build and maintain connector and component libraries
- Generate BOMs and manufacturing documentation packages
- Work closely with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers to ensure designs meet system requirements
- Review camera, lidar, power, vehicle, and compute manuals to identify pinouts, connector types, and electrical loads.
- Iterate on designs as systems evolve and incorporate lessons learned
- Support the manufacturing team during harness build and validation
- Block/System Diagram:
High‑level architectural drawing showing how everything connects. - Load Table:
Wire sizing requirements based on the loads of connected devices and electrical systems. - Logical Diagram:
How everything connects electrically at the signal level. - Wire Harness Schematic:
How everything connects at the physical level (butt splices, pinouts, connectors); captures all physical items but not their physical layout. - Form Board: 1:1 physical-scale layout of what will be manufactured, including lengths, branching, and sleeving.
- Electrical BOM:
Bill of materials for the harness build: connectors, terminals, wire, sleeving, and hardware. - Safety Documentation
- Wiring related sections of the Operations and Maintenance Manual (OMM)
