Description About Tenicor, LLCTenicor is an American design, development, manufacturing, and training company. We build products that work. Since 2008, we have been determined in our design, development and testing of innovative and intelligent equipment.
DescriptionAbout the role:
Tenicor already knows what we're building and why -- we need a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer who can take that vision and turn it into parts and systems that actually work, ship, and hold up in the field. This isn't a role for someone looking to decide what Tenicor makes next; it's a role for someone who takes a product concept, owns the engineering, and designs it right the first time, using a deep knowledge of how things actually get manufactured.
We are poised to experience 10X growth across various aspects of the company. We need somebody who can design new products with production in mind from the first sketch, so what they create can scale with us instead of getting redesigned twice.
What you'll love to do:
- Bring Tenicor's product vision to life -- from concept and early prototypes through detailed design, tolerancing, and release to production.
- Design parts and systems for manufacturability across a wide range of processes -- CNC machining, injection molding, casting, forging, additive manufacturing, and more -- choosing the right method for each part rather than defaulting to one.
- Run tolerance stack-up studies and FEA to catch problems on screen instead of in the field.
- Build the roughest prototype that can answer the question in front of you, test it, break it, draw a conclusion, and move to the next revision -- we don't wait for the perfect setup or every fancy tool to learn something.
- Apply Theory of Constraints thinking to figure out where your design effort actually matters -- what's really limiting the product or the process -- instead of polishing parts that were never the bottleneck.
- Partner with the Engineering Manager and manufacturing engineers early and often so new designs translate into producible, efficient processes instead of becoming problems on the floor.
- Create and maintain clear, accurate models, drawings, BOMs, and documentation in Fusion 360 (or an equivalent 3D CAD platform) that a machinist, vendor, or teammate can pick up and run with.
- Select materials, fasteners, and finishes with an eye toward cost, durability, and how the product will actually be used.
- Work directly with vendors and suppliers to qualify outsourced components and processes.
- Facilitate collaboration across engineering, production, and quality to keep new products aligned with the vision leadership has set.
- Mentor other engineers as our team grows.
- Be passionate about learning and understanding the operational aspects of Tenicor.
You'll succeed if you:
- Possess a strong attention to detail but can see the big picture.
- Are not afraid to fail, learn from it, and get better than yesterday.
- Love to work. You love new ideas and challenges. You're not content to sit around and wait for things to happen to you. You have an immense bias toward action, experimentation, and forward momentum.
- Can take direction and run with it -- you don't need to own the vision to be fully invested in…
