Overview:
This position supports the Senior Associate Director in managing federal aid programs and is responsible for daily operations to ensure program integrity. The Assistant Director supervises financial aid counselors, coordinates awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional aid, and provides timely and accurate processing of student aid records. The role also advises students and families on financial aid eligibility, loan requirements, and special circumstances, applies policies and procedures to efficiently process student financial aid applications, develops and maintains policies and procedures, ensures compliance with regulations, and presents financial aid information.
Collaborating with leadership, this role is key in planning and evaluating office activities.
- Manage federal aid programs and daily operations ensuring program integrity.
- Supervise financial aid counselors and maintain high service standards.
- Coordinate awarding, disbursement, and reconciliation of federal, state, and institutional aid.
- Advise students and families on financial aid eligibility, loan requirements, and special circumstances.
- Apply policies and procedures to process student financial aid applications efficiently.
- Develop and maintain policies and procedures, ensure compliance with regulations.
- Present financial aid information and collaborate with leadership on planning and evaluating office activities.
Required
:
- Two years of professional work experience.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to act independently, take initiative, build consensus, and exercise sound judgement.
- Ability to communicate articulately and work cooperatively with staff and students.
Preferred
:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree.
- Experience working in higher education.
- Supervisory experience.
- Experience with management information systems and software programs.
- Comfortability with technology and working with IT partners to develop, test, and launch technical financial aid processes or systems.
- National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) credentials or Financial Aid Administrator (FAA) Certification.

Pay Range$27.00 per hour or higher, depending upon education and experience.
