Overview
The position is responsible for leading a team and promoting quality service. The position is tasked with covering other positions as needed, performing specialty area work and ensuring a high level of customer satisfaction. Duties may include:
- Perform basic cleaning, sanitization and trash collection in and around residences halls and university buildings
- Ensure that assigned areas remain organized
- Maintain cleaning equipment and supplies
- Notify occupants of cleaning and floor maintenance schedules
- Maintain clean and clear walkways, ensuring they are free of debris, litter, snow and ice
- Respond to emergencies and assist other departments when needed to ensure optimum service
- Communicate equipment/supplies problems and necessary building repairs to supervisors
- Ensure that all assigned rooms and buildings are opened and locked as scheduled
- Train new employees
- Other duties as assigned
One year performing custodial duties, including working with industrial cleaning chemicals and heavy-duty cleaning equipment
