Qualifications

Required Education

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.

Required Licenses and Certifications

  • Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Idaho or a compact state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS/ACLS) certification.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification.
  • Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC) certification.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN).

Preferred Certifications

  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN).
  • Certified Pediatric Emergency Nurse (CPEN).

Work experience

  • Minimum two (2) years in Emergency Medicine required.

Skills and Abilities

  • Strong critical thinking and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-stress, fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in using medical equipment and technology.
  • Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Physical Demands

  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. from floor to waist occasionally.
  • Frequent patient transfers requiring physical assistance.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods.
  • Fine motor skills for patient handling and computer use.
  • Capability to perform tasks requiring kneeling, stooping, and climbing.

Work Environment

  • Regular exposure to blood-borne pathogens and infectious diseases.
  • Contact with patients under various circumstances, including emergencies.
  • Subject to varying and unpredictable situations, including potentially violent or crisis scenarios.
  • May be exposed to environmental hazards.
  • Occasional exposure to hazardous fumes.
