Irrigation Superintendent II

This position is responsible for the day-to-day operations and maintenance of all campus irrigation systems. It will work as part of a team to accomplish goals and objectives.

This is an essential position that will be called upon in the event of an emergency and/or university closure.

Duties may include:

* Perform routine and preventative maintenance of systems, tools, equipment and vehicles

* Locate irrigation lines, sprinkler heads and valves

* Call in locates for irrigation and landscape projects

* Make recommendations regarding irrigation projects and provide cost estimates

* Develop project and repair lists

* Test irrigation backflow assemblies on potable water systems

* Monitor contracted irrigation work

* Coordinate with various trade groups and contractors as needed

* Design, operate, expand and construct irrigation systems, including operation of trenchers or vibratory plows

* Review and interpret design and construction blueprints and specifications

* Use computer drafting software to map irrigation systems

* Train or supervise full-time and part-time employees

* Other duties as assigned
