Gropp Heating, Air & Electric has been servicing the Moscow and Pullman area for over 30 years and is looking for a Journeyman Electrician to join our team.

Electrician in a Nutshell

The electrician will install and maintain electrical wiring, fixtures, and systems in buildings while supporting HVAC needs. The electrician will also ensure safety procedures are followed and will be comfortable using hand tools.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Install and repair electrical wiring, systems, and fixtures in buildings.
  • Install conduits and pipes to house electrical wires and cables.
  • Ensure piping complies with electrical codes.
  • Install circuit breakers and other electrical hardware and connect wiring to them.
  • Connect electrical systems to power lines to provide electricity to the building.
  • Apply knowledge of HVAC industry and corresponding equipment.
  • Diagnose issues, perform maintenance and repairs, and recommend best solutions for customers.
  • Install electrical hardware such as junction boxes and circuit breaker units.
  • Test electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Inspect electrical systems to determine whether repairs are needed.
  • Replace conduit and wiring as needed.
  • Comply with all safety standards and regulations of the National Electrical Code.
  • Supervise and train others in the installation and repair of electrical components.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.
What We’re Looking For
  • Current Idaho Electrical Journeyman Card.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • High level of professionalism and excellent customer service standards in stressful situations.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self‑starter with excellent problem‑solving, analytical skills, and mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to read blueprints and extensive knowledge of electrical systems and wiring.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, test meters, and diagnostic equipment.
  • Experience working outdoors and frequently at heights on ladders.
  • Minimum three (3) years of previous electrical experience and completion of a formal apprenticeship.
  • High school diploma or equivalent education/experience required.
  • Valid driver’s license and insurability under the company policy.

Work Schedule
  • Full-time.
  • Monday through Thursday, 7:30am to 4:00pm.
