Job Description

The Moses Lake School District seeks a Middle School Science Teacher to teach science to grades 6-8, integrating research‑based instructional strategies and assessment practices to support effective instruction and student achievement.

Qualifications
  • Valid Washington State teacher certificate K‑8 and 4‑12 Science endorsement required, meeting the highly qualified teacher definition.
  • Undergraduate major or graduate degree in Science.
  • Willingness to work in a co‑curricular program.
  • Demonstrated understanding of research‑based instructional strategies and assessment practices.
  • Recent successful experience working with educators to model instructional strategies and assessment practices.
  • Knowledge of needs of diverse learners and strategies to address those needs.
  • Understanding of appropriate local and state standards.
  • Maintain integrity of confidential information relating to students, staff, and district patrons.
  • Evidence of use of technology to enhance student learning or willingness to learn.
  • Organizational skills and commitment to follow through on tasks.
  • Ability to establish and maintain excellent working relationships with students, teachers, school administrators, support personnel, and community members.
  • Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing.
