Para educator Generalist – Full Time – 6.5 hours per day, 180 days per year. Salary Range $20.27 to $24.93 per pay period.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 72 college credit hours or a college degree, or ability to pass the ETS assessment.
• Experience working with pupils individually and in small groups.
• Working knowledge of phonics and training/experience using Journeys.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Experience or training in classroom settings.
• Ability to complete tasks in fast‑paced environment.
• Skill to manage large student groups in unstructured settings while maintaining safety.
• Consistent attendance record.
• Willingness to relocate within district and adjust hours, duties, and enrollment as needed.
• Compassionate response to students needing assistance with personal care, including verbal coaching.

• Collaborate with teaching team following lesson plans and teacher guidance.
• Prepare and assemble teaching materials as requested.
• Assist teachers with supervisory tasks.
• Assist in administering tests and evaluating/modifying student work.
• Communicate proficiently in oral and written language.
• Support students in basic reading, math, writing, and self‑help skills.
• Implement detailed behavior management plans.
• Use appropriate interventions for student misbehavior.
• Help de‑escalate student misbehavior, including therapeutic holds as needed.
• Follow directions independently without frequent supervision.
• Show empathy and awareness of student needs.
• Remain flexible, calm, and patient in challenging situations.
• Help students develop acceptable behavior patterns.
• Observe and record student behavior and academic performance.
• Supervise students and maintain harmonious playground atmosphere.
• Supervise student movement to and from playground.
• Maintain constant vigilance for safety, including equipment condition.
• Exercise good judgment.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records as required.
• Enforce school and district policies.
• Develop good rapport with students and teachers.
• Maintain assigned email account and respond to messages promptly.
• Accept responsibility for assignments and outcomes.
• Work cooperatively with other staff, maintaining respectful relationships.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Be punctual; inform supervisor early for absences and enter into system.
• Perform other job‑related duties as assigned.

• Criminal history clearance through Washington State Patrol and FBI.
• Within first year, complete Washington State Fundamental Course of Study for Paraeducators per RCW 28A.413.070 and maintain future state requirements.
