Big Bend Community College (BBCC), a rural college serving vibrant, culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for a Classroom Aide in the college's Basic Education for Adults (BEdA) Department. This position is responsible for assisting the instructor in the daily activities of the Adult Basic Education Classroom. Positions are available in Moses Lake, Othello, Quincy, and Mattawa.
Hours of work are Monday – Thursday 5:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with occasional participation at outreach events.

Responsibilities- Assist students with assigned work, either individually or in small groups.
- Assist in administering CASAS (Comprehensive Adult Student Assessment System) tests to students.
- Assist in the collection and maintenance of required student records, attendance, test scores, and achievement records.
- Assist the instructor in promoting intercultural awareness and sensitivity in the classroom.
- Provide feedback to the instructor regarding student needs or classroom conditions.
- Screen students for eligibility of other possible services (Workforce Education Services (WES), Viking Food Pantry, etc.).
- Attend all required training and meetings.
- Perform related duties as assigned.
- At least 18 years of age.
- High school graduate or GED required.
- Organizational skills.
- Strong basic math skills.
- Previous experience working with computer applications such as Microsoft Office.
- Previous experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, age, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
- Experience tutoring or assisting adults.
- Bilingual Spanish/English proficiency.
