Associate Faculty Position in Art
Big Bend Community College (BBCC), a rural college serving vibrant, culturally rich communities in the Columbia Basin of Central Washington invites applications for Associate Faculty positions in Art. This position is responsible for preparing and teaching courses in Biology. This position reports to the Dean of Academic Transfer and Allied Health and works closely with the Math and Science Division Chair as well as other faculty and staff.

Compensation:
Associate Faculty receive quarterly contracts. Payment is based on $987.71/lecture credit.
Job Duties
Primary essential duties and responsibilities include but will not be limited to the following:
- Prepare and teach assigned courses in accordance with the Master Course Outline and in consultation with a full-time faculty member.
- Meet the class times as required by the quarterly schedule, in the required instructional modality.
- Assist students with questions related to the course(s) being taught.
- Maintain frequent communication with students.
- Refer students to appropriate college resources as needed.
- Maintain and submit grades and attendance reports to college personnel when required.
- Maintain student course materials for two (2) quarters beyond the quarter of attendance.
- Submit assessment data in consultation with a full-time faculty member in the department.
- Assist with development, selection, and/or recommend the selection of instructional materials for courses being taught.
- Post syllabi quarterly to the portal for each course taught.
- Schedule and hold a minimum of one office hour per week; online or face-to-face.
- Maintain an educational environment that promotes student learning and success.
At the time of application, all candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications:
- Master's degree in Biology, Biomedical Sciences, or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution. Applicants with a Bachelor's degree and 18 graduate-level credits in Biology will also be considered.
- Previous teaching experience, or relevant and equitable work experience in the desired field.
- Experience working directly with individuals from diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds.
Additional Desirable
Qualifications:
- Experience teaching at a community college within the previous three years.
- Experience working with non-traditional students.
- Experience using innovative teaching techniques.
