This is a part-time position from 7:00 am- 7:30 pm, Monday and Tuesday.

Description

Responsibilities include scheduling, processing, coordination and dispatch for procedure and clinic services provided by Diagnostic Imaging. The individual reports to the Director of Diagnostic Imaging and works closely with Admitting.

SPECIFIC

ACCOUNTABILITIES (not Limited To)
  • Schedules patients/exams for Diagnostic Imaging (and any other departments, as necessary).
  • Courteously and promptly answers all telephone calls and acknowledges customers in professional manner.
  • Checks voice mail regularly to assure that all incoming calls are handled in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Prints daily, a schedule for each modality of each exam scheduled for that day.
  • Performs daily checks on minor equipment (printers, fax, etc.) to assure proper working order.
  • Reports equipment/process malfunctions to the Director as soon as possible.
  • Coordinates appointments to maximize efficient customer access to exams, procedures and tests.
  • Verifies specified patient information, avoiding errors of record.
  • Maintains patient confidentiality within organizational guidelines.
  • Retrieves orders in a timely/efficient manner.
  • Assures that the technologists have all of the paperwork necessary to perform the given exam.
  • Communicates with Admitting, HIMC, Diagnostic Imaging (and any other departments as necessary) to facilitate patient flow.
  • Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise.
  • Ensures no injuries to self or others by following safe work practices and policies. This includes, but is not limited to: security and safety, understanding of MSDS, equipment, infection control, fire, disaster, safe lifting and body mechanics.
  • Ensures self-compliance with organization policies and procedures, as well as labor agreements.
  • Ensures the interface with team members and other support groups is conducted in a courteous and efficient manner conducive with the organization’s values.
  • Conducts self in a professional manner and ensures personal appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the organization.
  • Ensures that additional accountabilities, as may be required by management, be handled in a manner necessary to meet organizational standards.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS (not Limited To)
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Ability to operate a multi-line phone system.
  • Ability to perform data entry using Electronic Medical Record (EMR) preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic Life Support Heartsaver (HS) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.
Physical Requirements
  • Occasional standing, walking, lifting, reaching, kneeling, bending, stooping, pushing and pulling. Light physical effort, ability to lift/carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Mostly sedentary work. Prolonged periods of sitting.
  • Good reading eyesight; color vision - ability to distinguish and identify different colors.
  • Ability to communicate using verbal and/or written skills for accurate exchange of information with physicians, nurses, health care professionals, patients and/or family, and the public.
  • Considerable reaching/stooping/bending/kneeling/crouching.
