IT Support, Systems Engineer
Overview
AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. Key Job Responsibilities- Perform server rack installations, hardware break‑fix on various components, troubleshoot network issues, and respond to operational incidents that impact service availability, escalating to senior technicians and management as needed.
- Serve as a primary contact point for both internal and external stakeholders, including engineers, software developers, vendors, and contractors.
- Perform on‑call duties and participate in scheduled maintenance and change management activities.
- Contribute to documentation and process improvement initiatives based on analysis of operational issues.
- Help to train and onboard new team members.
- Take ownership of technical issues brought by the customer base, engaging other teams when needed to drive resolution.
- Solve problems at their root and step back to understand the broader context.
- Maintain service level agreements through proactive issue detection and reporting.
Shift work will include days, nights, weekends, and holidays. Traveling within and outside of the regional work area is required. A reliable personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license are required; company transportation will not be provided.
Qualifications- Basic: 2+ years of computer hardware troubleshooting and repair experience; 1+ year of computer networking experience; high school or equivalent diploma.
- Preferred:
Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure.
