This position is responsible for functioning both as a caregiver and care manager. In the caregiver role, the Registered Nurse (RN) assumes responsibility for a group of patients during a designated time frame while implementing the Nursing Process. As a care manager, the RN directs and oversees the work of other caregivers—both nurses and non‑nurses—through delegation, coordination, supervision, and evaluation of patient care outcomes.
The individual in this role must fully understand the operations of Patient Care Services and be able to make sound judgments when necessary.

This position reports to the Nursing Department Director, House Supervisor, Charge Nurse, and other designated supervisory staff. Collaboration with patients, physicians, and clinicians is essential for optimizing patient care outcomes.
Education & Experience- Education: Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- License: Current RN licensure in Washington State.
- Certification: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
- Experience: Preferred experience in acute care nursing with a minimum of one year in specialty departments.

- Completion of the American Academy of Pediatrics Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) required prior to the end of orientation, renewed every 2 years.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months of hire, renewed every 2 years.
- Completion of the STABLE course within 6 months of orientation completion, renewed every 2 years (optional).
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring course required within 3 months.
