Shift & Hours

Day

Shift: FT, 36 hrs/week, 7:00am-7:30pm
Night Shift: FT, 36 hrs/week, 7:00pm-7:30am

As part of the UFCW contract (the nurse’s union), nurses can only work three 12‑hour shifts per week to avoid exceeding 40 hrs/week. They then rotate the weekend they work.

Holiday/Weekend Requirement

Work every other weekend. Night Shift weekends:
Friday & Saturday. Day Shift weekends:
Sunday & Monday.

Holidays:
Rotates.

On Call Requirement

None, but can be put on low census standby (LCSB) which requires a 30‑minute arrival time. No call rooms for staff.

Responsibilities
  • Study patients’ medical history, test results, and treatment plans.
  • Track routine heart rate, blood pressure, and pulse oximetry measurements.
  • Monitor, interpret, and record data from specialized medical technologies and equipment.
  • Administer medication and perform treatment interventions in consultation with healthcare specialists.
  • Maintain and update ward charts, patient files, and medical records.
  • Monitor patients via remote electronic signals and respond to any changes in cardiac rhythm.
Must Haves
  • Current Washington State RN Licensure or Compact RN. Candidates must have an active license. Open to offering positions contingent on passing NCLEX.
Certification
  • BLS
  • Certifications for the different departments they are trained in.
Experience
  • Preferably experience in more than one department or willingness to train to float.
Education
  • ASN accepted.
Preferred
  • BSN & 2 years of recent experience as a Med/Surg Tele Nurse in a Level III Trauma Center.

Varies per unit.

Patient Population:
Resource Pool positions are cross-trained nurses that work in multiple departments. They will need certifications for the different departments they are trained in. Example: trained to work in PACU and ICU requires TNCC certification; if only in PACU and ED, not required.

Varies.

Nurse to Patient Ratio:
Varies per unit.

Reporting

Charge Nurse, Department Director.
