About the RoleThe Health Services Director works closely with the Executive Director and Resident Care Coordinator to ensure high‑quality care for all residents. The director is responsible for assessment and service planning, training and oversight of Medication Techs and Caregivers, and maintaining compliance with state, federal, and industry regulations. A caring nature and willingness to serve the elderly are essential.
Qualifications- Registered Nurse (RN), Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in Washington – active and in good standing.
- Proficiency in English.
- Current CPR certification.
- Experience in clinical nursing practice or long‑term care administration preferred; new graduates welcome.
- Must possess a current Washington state driver’s license with an appropriate driving record.
- Must be able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Demonstrated ability to delegate responsibility while retaining overall accountability.
- Implement interim service plans in partnership with the Resident Care Coordinator.
- Provide oversight and documentation for third‑party providers and coordinate their visits.
- Conduct routine audits across departments as directed by the Executive Director.
- Implement and monitor systems and protocols per company standards, including infection control, assessments, and resident monitoring.
- Maintain compliance with state, federal, industry, and company regulations and stay up to date with regulatory changes.
- Maintain familiarity with the service plan program and its reporting capabilities.
- Order incontinent supplies and durable medical equipment as needed.
- Complete medication administration record (MAR) audits and monitor medication room organization.
- Track and record incident reports, ensuring investigations are completed.
- Act as manager of the day when directed by the Executive Director.
- Maintain a monthly budget for the Health Services department.
- Ensure all health services staff have required training (CPR, First Aid, dementia training, etc.).
- Handle full staff management responsibilities for healthcare staff, including hiring, training, performance reviews, counseling, and discharge as necessary.
- Complete delegation training, assessments, and documentation per state guidelines.
- Ensure compliance with the clinical budget in all aspects of staffing and supplies.
- Provide on‑call clinical support to the community and cover shifts as needed.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
