Nurse Educator and Infection Preventionist

Columbia Crest Center in Moses Lake, WA seeks a Nurse Educator and Infection Preventionist to lead clinical education and infection control programs in our skilled nursing and rehab facility. This dual-role position develops and delivers staff training, supports orientation and competency assessments, and ensures adherence to evidence-based infection prevention standards. The nurse collaborates with interdisciplinary teams, monitors infection trends, conducts audits, and guides outbreak response.

Responsibilities

• Develop, deliver, and update clinical education and training programs for nursing and care staff
• Coordinate and support new-hire orientation and ongoing competency assessments
• Lead infection prevention and control program in alignment with regulatory standards
• Monitor, analyze, and report infection data and trends within the facility
• Conduct infection control rounds, audits, and environmental assessments
• Educate staff on infection prevention policies, PPE, and hand hygiene best practices
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on resident care plans and quality initiatives
• Lead or support outbreak investigation, response, and mitigation efforts
• Maintain documentation required for state, federal, and accreditation compliance
• Participate in quality improvement projects to enhance resident safety and outcomes
