Engineer I (Entry-Level)

Overview

We are seeking an entry-level Engineer I to support the design and construction of power-related systems. This role will apply foundational engineering principles, design standards, and software tools to contribute to project development, estimation, and execution.

The ideal candidate is motivated, detail-oriented, and eager to grow their technical expertise while collaborating with internal teams and external partners.

Key Responsibilities

* Apply engineering processes, design criteria, and approved software tools to develop system designs

* Support the preparation of project estimates, design alternatives, and construction specifications

* Assist in developing construction packages, including drawings and supporting documentation

* Coordinate with internal teams involved in planning, design, construction, operations, and maintenance

* Provide oversight and quality assurance reviews for contractor-developed designs, estimates, and deliverables

* Ensure adherence to established engineering standards, design practices, and work processes

* Support the development and continuous improvement of system design standards and criteria

* Assist with material take-offs and project cost estimation

* Transmit construction packages and support specifications to appropriate stakeholders

* Provide day-to-day support to construction and maintenance teams

Safety & Compliance

* Promote and maintain a safety-first work environment

* Follow all safety guidelines, procedures, and regulatory requirements

* Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards and internal engineering practices

Required Qualifications

* Bachelor's degree in Engineering (from an accredited institution)

* 0-5 years of related engineering experience

* Minimum 2 years of CAD experience

* Experience walking down, marking up, and updating mechanical drawings (including P&IDs)

Preferred Skills & Competencies

* Foundational knowledge of engineering principles and design processes

* Basic proficiency with discipline-specific engineering software tools

* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

* Ability to make decisions within established procedures, with guidance from supervisor

* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills

* Effective written and verbal communication skills

* Ability to build collaborative relationships with engineers, plant personnel, and vendors

* Positive attitude and strong work ethic
