Mechanical Engineer
The Engineer 1 position is ideal for individuals with 0-5 years of related experience and an accredited bachelor's degree. The role involves applying engineering processes, design criteria, and software applications to design and construct power-related systems. You will support estimate preparation, develop design options, and prepare construction specifications. Additionally, you will provide guidance, oversight, and quality assurance reviews for contractors as they develop design solutions, cost estimates, and construction packages.
Responsibilities
- Create a safe work environment by prioritizing safety.
- Understand the processes used for planning, design, operation, construction, and maintenance.
- Comprehend the functions and activities of various internal departments involved in design, construction, and maintenance.
- Understand design practices and work processes.
- Utilize all software applications used in design.
- Understand industry design standards.
- Support the development of design standards and criteria for the system.
- Assist construction and maintenance teams during daily operations.
- Estimate material requirements for projects.
- Transmit construction packages and support specifications.
Essential Skills
- Introductory engineering knowledge.

- Limited discretion in making independent decisions based on procedure and review with supervisor.

- Ability to build effective relationships with plant staff, design engineering staff, and vendors.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of required CAD experience.
- Experience in walking down, marking up, and updating mechanical drawings (P&IDs).
- Proficiency in mechanical design, AutoCAD, and P&.
Work Environment
The role is based onsite at Plant Daniel.
Job Type & Location
This is a contract position based out of Moss Point, MS.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $33.75 - $38.46/hr eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
