Job DescriptionWelder Fitter up to $2,030+ WEEKLY Join Our Team! We are currently seeking experienced Welder/Fitters to join a busy shipyard operation in Moss Point, MS. If you have structural fitting experience and enjoy working in a fast-paced maritime environment, we want to hear from you!
Job Responsibilities Remove steel plates from vessels using a washout tip. Cut, fit, and prepare steel plates for welding. Bevel plates for structural weld joints using a washout tip. Install structural attachments including saddles, eye pads, and hangers capable of supporting heavy loads. Set up and operate SMAW welding equipment. Perform welding using 6010 and/or 7018 electrodes. Safely operate acetylene torch washout tips.
Follow all shipyard safety procedures and quality standards.
Key Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of Structural Fitter experience. Experience in a shipyard or heavy industrial environment preferred. Ability to set up and operate SMAW welding equipment. Proficient using 6010 and/or 7018 welding rods. Experience using an acetylene torch washout tip. Ability to read measurements and perform accurate fit-up work. Dependable with a strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
