Farm Mechanic

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Farm Mechanic to maintain and repair agricultural machinery and equipment at their operations in Mossel Bay . This hands-on role is essential for ensuring the smooth running of the farm, minimizing downtime, and maximizing the efficiency of our agricultural fleet. You will be responsible for diagnosing mechanical issues, performing routine maintenance, and conducting necessary repairs on a wide range of farm equipment, from tractors to harvesters.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel mechanics and experience with agricultural machinery, coupled with a proactive approach to preventative maintenance.

• Perform scheduled preventative maintenance on all farm machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical failures in tractors, harvesters, and other farm vehicles.
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment to identify potential problems before they cause breakdowns.
• Maintain an inventory of spare parts and order replacements as needed.
• Ensure all machinery operates safely and efficiently according to manufacturer specifications.
• Keep accurate records of all maintenance and repair work performed.

• Proven experience as a Mechanic, preferably with specialized knowledge of agricultural equipment.
• Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair complex mechanical issues.
• Experience with welding and fabrication is a plus.
• Valid driver's license and a willingness to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends.
