About the Role
Our client is seeking a diligent and skilled Maintenance Electrical Technician to ensure the optimal functioning and reliability of electrical systems and equipment at their facilities in Mossel Bay . This hands-on role is crucial for minimizing downtime and maintaining safe operating conditions. You will be responsible for performing routine maintenance, diagnosing electrical faults, and carrying out repairs on a variety of industrial machinery and electrical installations.
The ideal candidate is a practical problem-solver with a strong understanding of electrical systems and a commitment to preventative maintenance strategies, ensuring operational continuity.
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on electrical equipment, including motors, generators, control panels, and lighting systems.
- Diagnose and repair electrical malfunctions and breakdowns using appropriate testing equipment and tools.
- Install, test, and commission new electrical equipment and systems.
- Read and interpret electrical schematics , blueprints, and technical manuals to perform repairs and installations.
- Ensure all work is carried out in compliance with safety regulations and company policies.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inventory of spare parts.
- National Diploma or N3 in Electrical Engineering or a related trade qualification (e.g., Electrician Trade Test).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance, preferably in an industrial or manufacturing environment.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex electrical problems and perform effective repairs.
- Familiarity with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems .
- Knowledge of safety procedures, including lockout/tagout.
- Strong practical skills and a methodical approach to maintenance tasks.
