Industrial Machinery Mechanic

Our client seeks a skilled Industrial Machinery Mechanic to join their operations team in Mossel Bay . This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of manufacturing and processing equipment critical to our client's business. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of a variety of industrial machines, playing a key part in preventing downtime and optimizing production output.

This is a hands-on position for an individual with a strong mechanical aptitude and a commitment to upholding high standards of operational efficiency and safety in a busy industrial setting.

• Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and servicing of industrial machinery, including preventive and predictive maintenance tasks.
• Diagnose mechanical issues, faults, and breakdowns, and carry out timely and effective repairs.
• Install new machinery and equipment, ensuring proper alignment, calibration, and integration into existing production lines.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and manuals to understand machine specifications and repair procedures.
• Fabricate or modify parts as needed using workshop tools and equipment.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations within the plant in Mossel Bay .

• Proven experience as an Industrial Machinery Mechanic or in a similar mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including gears, bearings, pumps, conveyors, and power transmission systems.
• Proficiency in using hand and power tools, as well as specialized diagnostic equipment.
• Ability to interpret technical documentation and schematics effectively.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying potential issues.
• Good physical condition and the ability to work in various industrial environments, including confined spaces and at heights as required near Mossel Bay .
