Aircraft Ground Equipment Technician

Our client requires a skilled and reliable Aircraft Ground Support Equipment Technician to join their team in Mossel Bay. In this role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of a wide range of ground support equipment (GSE) essential for aircraft operations. Your expertise will ensure that all GSE is operational, safe, and compliant with industry standards, directly supporting the efficiency of airport activities.

This position is ideal for a mechanically inclined individual looking to contribute to the smooth functioning of an aviation hub.

• Perform routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and diagnostic testing on various GSE, including tugs, baggage loaders, and service vehicles.
• Repair and replace faulty components, ensuring all equipment meets operational specifications.
• Maintain detailed logs of all maintenance, repairs, and servicing performed on GSE.
• Ensure the safe operation and storage of all ground support equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues with GSE.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures related to GSE operation and maintenance.

• Proven experience as a Ground Support Equipment Technician or in a related mechanical maintenance role.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics.
• Familiarity with safety standards for airport operations and equipment.
• Good troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to maintenance.
• A valid driver's license is required, with a forklift certification being an advantage.
