Irrigation Systems Technician

Our client is seeking a skilled and reliable Irrigation Systems Technician to join their team in Mossel Bay . This position is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of advanced irrigation systems across various agricultural sites. You will play a vital role in ensuring the efficient and effective use of water resources for crop cultivation, contributing directly to farm productivity and sustainability.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, a practical understanding of water management, and a commitment to quality workmanship in the Western Cape region.

• Install, inspect, and repair various types of irrigation systems, including drip, sprinkler, and center pivot.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose system malfunctions, identifying root causes of problems.
• Perform routine maintenance to ensure optimal system performance and longevity.
• Operate and maintain tools and equipment used in irrigation system servicing.
• Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and system status.
• Advise farm managers on best practices for water management and irrigation efficiency.

• Proven experience as an Irrigation Technician or in a related technical field.
• Proficiency in installing, maintaining, and repairing diverse irrigation technologies.
• Understanding of water flow dynamics, pressure requirements, and system components.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving abilities.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel to various farm locations in Mossel Bay .
