Telecommunications Installation Technician

Our client is seeking a reliable and skilled Telecommunications Installation Technician to join their team in Mossel Bay . This hands-on role is vital for deploying and maintaining communication infrastructure for businesses and residences. You will be responsible for the physical installation, configuration, and testing of various telecommunications equipment, ensuring reliable service for clients. This position requires a dedicated individual ready to tackle the challenges of on-site installations and repairs within the scenic Western Cape region.

• Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
• Mount and configure telecommunications equipment, including routers, switches, and access points.
• Troubleshoot and repair network connectivity issues for clients.
• Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and potential challenges.
• Ensure all installations comply with industry standards and company best practices.
• Provide basic training and support to end-users on installed systems.

• Previous experience in telecommunications installation or low-voltage systems.
• Knowledge of cabling standards, network protocols, and telecommunications hardware.
• Ability to read and interpret site plans and technical diagrams.
• Proficiency with hand and power tools commonly used in installations.
• Good physical stamina and ability to work at heights or in confined spaces when necessary.
• A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required for site visits.
