About the RoleYou will support construction projects through hands‑on work in the field and equipment operation
. This position plays a critical role in the successful completion of corrosion control projects.
- Basic knowledge of construction site safety practices and protocols.
- Ability to perform physical labor, including lifting heavy materials.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Ability to travel for multiple weeks at a time.
- Previous experience as a construction assistant, equipment operator, or laborer.
- Familiarity with construction equipment and tools.
- OSHA 10 certification or higher.
- Basic mechanical skills.
- Experience operating equipment (backhoe, trencher, mini‑excavator, auger, and forklift).
- Experience in the corrosion control industry.
- Assist construction crews with loading and unloading materials, setting up equipment, and performing general labor tasks.
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulatory requirements related to vehicle operation and construction site activities.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to coordinate deliveries, schedules, and on‑site support tasks.
- Dig ditches or trenches, backfill excavations, and compact and level earth to grade specifications, using picks, shovels, tampers, and rakes.
- Help clean and organize trucks and warehouse areas.
Physical Requirements and Working Conditions
- Must be able to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces, such as trenches, pits, and manholes.
- Must be able to lift, carry, push or pull objects up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Must be able to climb stairs, ramps and ladders regularly.
- Must be able to sit, stand, walk, or drive for long periods of time (1‑3 hours).
- Must be able to see, hear, and respond quickly to dangerous situations.
- Must be comfortable working outdoors, including in extreme weather conditions.
- Must be comfortable around moving machinery, vehicles, and heavy equipment.
- Must be comfortable wearing personal protective gear while working (safety glasses, steel‑toed shoes, hard hat, gloves, safety vest, FRCs).
- Ability to adhere to OSHA and site‑specific PPE and safety requirements.
Requires extensive travel with assignments lasting multiple weeks at a time. Daily per diem and hotel accommodations are provided during travel.
ScheduleMonday‑Saturday, 45‑60 hours weekly with overtime rules applied. Work weeks are followed by a week off.
