Career and Technical Education (CTAE) Teacher - CCAE Teacher

Seeking a dedicated Career and Technical Education (CTAE) teacher to lead our Coordinated Career Academic Education program. The ideal candidate will deliver a comprehensive curriculum focused on employability skills that prepare students for a successful transition to the workforce or post-secondary while integrating a specialized support program designed to help at-risk students stay in school. The teacher will facilitate project-based learning, work-based experiences, and foster student participation in Career and Technical Student Organizations (CTSO).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a consistent and reliable presence at work, ensuring dependability in scheduling and engagement that supports the team's and students' needs.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that meet the course standards and enhance student employability skills such as communication, critical thinking, and teamwork.
  • Facilitate guest speaker sessions, workplace tours, shadowing opportunities, and internships to provide students with real-world work experiences.
  • Prepare students for obtaining industry-recognized credentials and ensure students complete the pathway with credentials of value.
  • Engage and motivate students to participate actively in all aspects of the educational process, including CTSO activities.
  • Monitor and evaluate students' progress, providing timely feedback and support to ensure academic and personal growth.
  • Collaborate with industry partners, local businesses, and community organizations to enhance the educational experiences and work-readiness of students.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of student performance, attendance, and other required documentation.
  • Effectively supervise and ensure the safety of students during emergency situations, demonstrating quick decision-making and adherence to established safety protocols.
  • This role requires a calm and composed demeanor to manage unexpected challenges while maintaining the well-being of all students.
  • Attend required meetings, work sessions, and professional development seminars, conferences, and workshops at the approval of the Building Principal and/or CTAE District.
  • Physical Demands:
    Tasks may involve moderate physical activity, including lifting (20-50 lbs.).
  • Develop and maintain the Workforce Ready program in line with state guidelines.
  • Relay and enforce staff policies and programs established by GaDOE
  • Provide remedial techniques, counseling, and intervention services to individual students who may be at risk of dropping out.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Principal and/or CTAE Director.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a Bachelor's Degree or higher.
  • Valid Georgia Teaching Certification.
  • Strong background and professional experience in workforce education, career readiness, or related fields.
  • Proficient in integrating technology into curriculum and classroom activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, parents, and professionals in education and industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement effective project-based and work-based learning opportunities.
  • Committed to fostering a positive learning environment and to student success in academics and career skills.
  • Preferred

    Skills:
    • Experience with or strong understanding of the Georgia Department of Education's Workforce Ready Pathway curriculum and standards.
    • Active involvement or leadership in Career and Technical Student Organizations.
    • Prior experience in facilitating student achievement of industry-recognized credentials.
  • Salary:
    Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
