Role DescriptionThis is a customer-focused and facing position that will primarily handle helpdesk issues and project work relating to network, server, workstation, and application installation and maintenance. Implement, maintain, and support a wide variety of IT solutions. Provide exceptional customer support, responding promptly to inquiries and resolving issues effectively. Document procedures, troubleshooting steps, and project outcomes.
Pay$62,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
Responsibilities- Install, configure, and maintain network hardware including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers to ensure optimal performance.
- Monitor network health using tools like Solar Winds, PRTG, and Splunk; troubleshoot issues related to LAN, WAN, VPNs, and network security protocols.
- Manage network security measures such as Cisco ISE, PKI, LDAP, and firewall configurations including Cisco ASA and Juniper devices.
- Perform vulnerability assessments and system hardening procedures to safeguard against cyber threats; conduct regular network security audits.
- Support network infrastructure projects involving virtualization platforms like VMware vSphere, ESXi, and cloud services such as AWS and Azure; implement high availability solutions.
- Automate routine tasks using scripting languages like Bash, Power Shell, Python, and Ansible to improve efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams on network architecture design, SDLC, and Dev Ops initiatives for continuous improvement.
- Proven experience in computer networking with strong knowledge of routing protocols such as OSPF, BGP, EIGRP; familiarity with MPLS networks.
- Hands‑on expertise with LAN/WAN technologies including Ethernet, TCP/IP stack, DHCP, DNS, SFTP/FTP/HTTPS protocols.
- Deep understanding of network security concepts including encryption methods, SSO, VPNs, SSL/TLS protocols.
- Proficiency with operating systems like Windows Server, Linux distributions (Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian), BSD variants; system administration skills are essential.
- Experience managing enterprise‑grade network devices from Cisco and Juniper; familiarity with Cisco ISE for identity management is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SAN, NAS, RAID controllers for data storage solutions; experience with VMware vSphere or ESXi is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills in vulnerability assessment tools such as Solar Winds or Splunk; ability to perform system hardening and network monitoring effectively.
