Position Summary

The Outreach Specialist is responsible for growing membership, deepening relationships, and increasing Go Energy Credit Union's visibility throughout the South Georgia market. This position will visit employee member groups, attend community and employer events, and support sales and outreach goals through consistent market activity and relationship building.

Reporting to the Business Development Manager, this role will spend approximately 75% of time in the field and 25% of time in office providing basic member service support. The ideal candidate is a self‑motivated, relationship‑driven professional who enjoys representing the credit union in the community and connecting members and prospective members with the right solutions.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities Market Outreach & Relationship Building
  • Build and maintain relationships with employee member groups, local businesses, schools, community organizations, and other partners in the South Georgia market.
  • Visit employee member groups and partner locations to promote credit union membership, products, services, and financial wellness resources.
  • Serve as a brand ambassador for Go Energy Credit Union by creating a positive and professional presence in assigned markets.
  • Identify opportunities to expand membership and strengthen relationships with existing members, employers, and community partners.
Events & Community Presence
  • Represent the credit union at outreach events, benefit fairs, orientations, community fairs, business expos, school events, and financial education opportunities.
  • Coordinate and support onsite table events, presentations, membership drives, and promotional activities.
  • Prepare event materials, follow up on leads and referrals, and communicate opportunities to appropriate credit union team members.
  • Support assigned sales, outreach, and production goals by generating qualified referrals, new member opportunities, and product/service conversations.
  • Engage members and prospective members in needs‑based conversations to identify appropriate credit union solutions.
  • Track outreach activity, event results, leads, referrals, and progress toward goals.
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Member Service, Lending, and other internal teams to support campaigns and growth initiatives.
Member Service Support
  • Provide basic member service functions in office approximately 25% of the time.
  • Assist members with general account questions, new account support, applications, basic transactions, digital banking guidance, and product/service information within established policies and procedures.
  • Deliver friendly, accurate, and professional service while protecting member confidentiality.
  • Refer more complex service, lending, or account needs to the appropriate department or team member.
Travel & Administrative Responsibilities
  • Travel regularly throughout the South Georgia market for employee group visits, events, meetings, and outreach activities.
  • Maintain an organized schedule and communicate availability, event plans, and follow‑up needs with the Business Development Manager.
  • Submit mileage, travel documentation, event reports, and other required records in a timely manner.
  • Mileage reimbursement and approved travel expenses are provided in accordance with credit union policy.
Qualifications Education

High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate or bachelor's degree in business, marketing, communications, finance, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience is accepted.

Experience
  • 1-3 years of experience in sales, customer service, business development, community outreach, financial services, or a related field preferred.
