Laboratory Analyst (Water & Wastewater) (Finance)

We are seeking a detail-oriented Laboratory Analyst to collect samples, perform water and wastewater testing, and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. This role is ideal for individuals with a background in chemistry, biology, environmental science, or laboratory operations who are passionate about water quality and public health.
What You'll Do- Collect water, wastewater, and environmental samples from treatment facilities, distribution systems, streams, and customer locations.
- Perform chemical, physical, and microbiological analyses, including BOD, COD, pH, chlorine residual, turbidity, dissolved oxygen, nutrients, solids, and coliform testing.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records, quality control data, chains of custody, and compliance documentation.
- Calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory and field equipment.
- Prepare reagents and standards, manage chemical inventory, and support laboratory certification requirements.
- Follow all safety procedures and work collaboratively with operations teams and the public.
- High school diploma or GED required; degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related sciences preferred.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to obtain State Water/Wastewater Laboratory Analyst Certification within one year of employment.
- Knowledge of laboratory procedures, water quality testing, or wastewater operations is preferred.
- Ability to participate in on-call and weekend rotations.
- Work indoors and outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
- Stand, walk, bend, climb, and perform field sampling activities.
- Availability for overtime and non-standard work hours as needed.
