Customer Service Rep, Event Manager / Planner, Summer Seasonal, Recreation & Leisure
Nature of Work
This position is responsible for monitoring guests who have rented facilities within the Community Center. They ensure the event runs smoothly, welcoming guests, answering questions, and working as a liaison between client, support staff, and vendors.
Communicates with:
- Internally – Parks and Recreation staff.
- Externally – General public.
Supervision: None
Essential Work Functions- Assists with set up for many types of events, including but not limited to: banquets, birthday parties, weddings, conferences, retreats, meetings, seminars, trainings, etc.
- Interacts with event attendees, making them feel welcome and answers questions when needed.
- Responds to client requests.
- Monitors vendor schedules, ensuring they meet attendance requirements (deadlines).
- Assures venue does not exceed capacity.
- Assures venue is vacated at the proper time.
- Assists with cleaning during and ensures cleaning is underway at the conclusion of the event.
- Return equipment and supplies to proper location.
- Performs related work as required.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED.
- One (1) year customer service experience.
- Ability to work flexible schedules including day and evening hours.
- Be available to work a part-time schedule of up to 20 hours per week.
- Willing to work nights and weekends.
- Able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Ability to work with recreation software.
- Ability to work with audio visual equipment.
- Ability to be First Aid and CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
