Role SummaryThis role supports the continued scaling and improvement of the Affera HW system in the Cardiac Ablation Solutions (CAS) Operating Unit as a Reliability Engineer. The Affera system is a primary portfolio driver for the CAS OU with integrated mapping, navigation, RF, and PF functionality.
Primary Responsibilities- Develop, coordinate and conduct technical reliability studies and evaluations of engineering design concepts and design of experiments.
- Recommend design or test methods and statistical process control procedures to achieve required product reliability levels.
- Complete risk analysis studies of new designs and processes.
- Compile and analyze performance reports and process control statistics; investigate and analyze relevant variables potentially affecting product and processes.
- Ensure corrective measures meet acceptable reliability standards.
- Analyze preliminary plans and develop reliability engineering programs to meet company, customer, and governmental agency reliability objectives.
- Develop mathematical models to identify units, batches or processes that pose excessive failure risks.
- Propose changes in design or formulation to improve system and/or process reliability.
- Determine units or batches requiring environmental testing and specify minimum sample sizes for statistically valid data.
- Support design change, design verification, risk management, OEM/CM supplier change, and risk response activities (Issue Evaluation, PHO, HRA, FCA).
- Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with a minimum of 0 years of relevant experience.
- Medical device experience.
- Understanding and experience in design controls, V&V, and risk management for both commercial and development.
- System‑thinking and process mapping; ability to identify interfaces, dependencies, and control points.
- Demonstrated stakeholder management and coordination of complex assignments with cross‑functional teams.
- Knowledge of 21
CFR
820, ISO 13485, and ISO 14971. - Experience managing a QMS procedure/process.
- Focus on Affera Capital (HW) equipment DRM, change management, risk management, and risk response.
