Laser Operator - 2nd Shift

Operates laser cutting machines. Accurately and efficiently performs cutting jobs by understanding the part drawing, or job instructions, cutting the parts and performing inspections. Independently executes all setups and has a complete understanding of the machine control and can perform basic programming.

• Makes parts that conform to the drawing specifications by performing setups, operating and adjusting Bystronic laser cutting machines and their controls.
• Loading and unloading material onto the machines, verify materials meet required specifications and make equipment adjustments as necessary.
• Independently perform all setups and execute them efficiently.
• Meets or exceeds job time standards as much as possible.
• Troubleshoots problems with the machine control and part programs.
• Assure accuracy of initial product run to make sure it meets customer specifications.
• Perform secondary operations such as drilling, tapping and deburring.
• Completely and accurately fill out job paperwork and inspection reports.
• Keeps the work area clean and organized.

• Maintain a positive image for the company.
• Perform miscellaneous shop duties as required.
• Perform other duties as required.

• Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions in English.
• Experience in a manufacturing environment in metal fabrication and/or laser operations. Good mechanical aptitude and excellent math skills.

• Lift over 50 lbs.
• Work while standing for a full shift.
• Ability to pull, push, reach overhead, climb and grasp tools.
