Design Technician II – Coronary & Renal Denervation (CRDN) Laboratory, Mounds View site.

We support the design process for complex electromechanical devices from pre‑market product development to post‑market surveillance, ensuring performance and safety throughout the product life cycle. The role requires onsite presence at least four days a week, with less than 10% travel.

Responsibilities
  • Perform complex electrical and hardware tests and provide updates to the broader team.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel for data collection and process documentation.
  • Work effectively in a team environment; also able to work independently.
  • Identify, document, and improve known or potential issues in the lab.
  • Apply and maintain quality standards for all activities associated with product testing.
  • Contribute to investigations associated with product testing.
  • Comply with all applicable department, site‑wide procedures and regulations.
Nice to Haves
  • Knowledge of FDA regulations and ISO 17025; basic experience executing installation qualification (IQ).
  • Self‑starter who proactively collaborates with engineers to identify and solve problems, supports root causes, and advises solutions with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with statistical analysis tools (e.g., Minitab, MATLAB) to analyze and interpret test data.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast‑paced environment.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent, vocational or technical education, or certification.
  • Hands‑on testing experience in a controlled laboratory setting.
  • Electrical testing experience: understanding of basic electrical principles, circuits, and components.
  • Hands‑on experience with equipment such as LCRs, oscilloscopes, multimeters.
  • Strong communication skills, able to provide testing updates and promptly communicate issues as they arise.
  • Strong Good Documentation Practices (GDP) skills.

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree satisfying 8 C.F.R. 214.2(h)(4)(iii)(A) is required.

Benefits & Compensation

Salary ranges for U.S. (excluding Puerto Rico) locations: $56,800.00 – $85,200.00 (USD). This position is eligible for the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).
