Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our corporate finance team. This role supports core accounting functions, financial reporting, compliance activities, and internal control procedures across a dynamic and collaborative organization. Key Responsibilities General Accounting & Reporting- Perform general accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and monthly/quarterly closing tasks
- Assist with daily and monthly cash transactions and bank reconciliations
- Prepare supporting schedules for financial reporting, including cash, interest income, health insurance, property tax, PP&E, travel, sales tax, and credit line activity
- Support compliance reporting related to the company’s revolving credit facility
- Assist with ongoing Sarbanes‑Oxley (SOX) compliance processes
- File periodic tax forms and unclaimed property reports while maintaining proper documentation
- Participate in internal and external audits, providing accurate schedules and supporting materials
- Provide support for procurement approvals, cost tracking, capital project completion, insurable values, depreciation, transfers, and disposal activities
- Support the administration of the travel expense policy, including reviewing and approving expense reports
- Assist with reporting and compliance related to company travel and expense systems
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting practices and procedures
- Research as needed to resolve accounting issues
- Assist with special projects and finance initiatives as assigned
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline (required)
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience (preferred)
- Experience in corporate accounting, compliance, or financial reporting is a plus
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent problem‑solving, analytical, and critical‑thinking abilities
- Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment
- Demonstrated initiative, resourcefulness, and attention to detail
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and work with sensitive financial information
- Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within cross‑functional teams
- Primarily a sedentary, office‑based role involving prolonged computer and desk work
- Minimal physical requirements aside from occasional light lifting (files, office supplies)
- Professional, climate‑controlled work environment designed for productivity and collaboration
