Production Manager, Manufacturing Production
Responsible for supervising production line operations in accordance with plant policies and procedures. Ensures that all operations run safely, efficiently and in accordance to process procedures and specifications during the shift.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for maintaining a safe, clean work environment for all employees
- Supervise production line operation in accordance with plant policies and procedures
- Coach/instruct employees on proper methods and procedures of performing job assignments
- Responsible for shift schedule to include: implementation of work schedule, employee training, and back-up for absent employees
- Coordinate production startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
- Coordinate staff levels with Plant Manager
- Responsible for meeting shift production goals
- Responsible for meeting shift quality goals
- Communicate via written and/or verbally all information pertaining to Safety, Quality, Production and any other issues to other Shift Supervisors, Plant Manager, and any other members of the management team as required
- Maintain all documentation procedures such as shift production log, time cards, attendance records, scrap tickets, move tickets, corrective actions and any other paperwork deemed necessary
- Assist in production as necessary to attain manufacturing goals. Troubleshoot and determine root causes preventing you from attaining your goals
- Issue progressive disciplinary action as required by plant procedures
- Verify all products are manufactured to the engineering specification by participating in the first piece process and making frequent rounds to each machine throughout the shift. Coordinate with Quality personnel to assure product is produced with specified parameters
- Complete new employee checklists
- Arrange personnel or fill-in for requested breaks for operators
- Other duties as assigned
Must possess AA or BS degree desired, manufacturing supervision (5 years) required. Desired-Six Sigma, Lean, 5S, Inventory Control. Ability to read measuring instruments such as, rulers, scales, calipers, micrometers, etc. Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and machinery. Ability to operate a forklift, box/reel stapler, tape gun, nail gun, stretch wrap machine, floor scrubber, calculator, etc.
Demonstrated aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers. Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
